BoingBoing posts today [via The Boston Globe] that Jack Kerouac’s legendary manuscript for his novel, “On The Road” will soon be published in its entirety. For obvious reasons, Jack is one of my biggest heros ever. Besides being one of the coolest travelin’ men of the 20th century, he knew exactly how to turn his life into legend. (Is that what I’m trying to do here???) As the story goes, Jack sat down and wrote out the novel on one large roll of paper. He locked himself in his room for three weeks and hammered that baby out continuous-style. Beautiful. I can’t wait to get a copy.

I saw this manuscript on exhibit at the San Francisco Public Library a few months ago. One had to stand in line for the opportunity to bask in its novelty, but completely worth it. The craziest thing: NO typos.
