Speaking of work… The New York Times has a great article about out of work men who do not seek to become employed. They’re fed up with the crappy jobs available to them in this, our lovely 21st Century America. When they once earned a good living for a big corporation with a pension and a fat paycheck or whatever, they got laid off and now just hang around spending out their savings… reading good books, drinkin’ red wine on the porch, makin’ love with the missus all day, fishing… God! What could they be thinking! Unproductive slobs. Dragging the rest of society down with their non-working sloth. Get to work at Home Depot or something, fatso!

    WOO-HOO!!!

Only 10 more years 'til retirement baby!!!

I myself, am a 45 year old man and find insult in this biased version of the New York Times' article. I've done more than enough work I use to work 55 hours a week in a small cramped cubicle. The write obviously has not tried putting his/herself in our shoes. Why don't you aim your attacks those who have many kids and sit at home every day collecting unemployment checks who have never held a job for more than half a year. And those who live the illegal life selling drugs to our kids and shooting each other. Those are the true drag on our economy. I've made enough money in my life to settle down and enjoy the finer things in life.

  • Those are mighty good roots, for sure. :)

Being part Native American in heritage, (a very small part ;-) , I remember my Great Grandpa saying, “In the olden days, the women gathered the food, made the clothes, raised the kids, and kept the fires going while the men were out hunting and fishing. Then the whiteman came along and thought he could improve on that.”

I just want to go back to my Native American roots.
