[Note: Audrey's gonna write her own posts on The Poverty Jet Set now, too! Hurray!]

Today my trusty steed, Ron Burgundy, was towed away to rest his rusty bones in some kind of junkyard. Yes, my burgundy 1994, four-door Oldsmobile had a name, and he served me well. We shared many moments together. Mark and I were with Ron when he hit 100,000 on the odometer back on our road trip last winter. Here, you can watch for yourself…

All I have left to remember him by are these videos and this I BRAKE FOR GOLF COURSES plate cover. Heh. Adios, Ron.

I like it when people name their cars. I have one named Lucy.

  • Wild coincidence or unfettered fate. You be the judge! ;)

I didn't occur to me that Mark's first post on The Poverty Jet Set was about getting rid of his beloved car Sparky, until after i had decided this post about Ron Burgundy would be my first post on PJS. heh!

  • *sigh* RIP.

  • goodbye Ron. you wouldn't remember me. we hardly knew each other but i thought you were special.

my first car was an '85 Chevi Cavalier. dark blue. all function, not so much in the form department. you could not stop this thing. large parts would just fall off and it never even seemed to matter. turn the radio up to mask the noise and you were good to go. my parents though it was wise to trade in my Chevi in to get themselves a new Mitsubishi, giving me their old Mitsubishi. my car was maybe the only car in my family's history that was able to be driven away. the Mitsubishi that I was given lasted me about 2 months before she was dead and gone. Granted, she was never loved.

  • My first blog post at The Poverty Jet Set was about giving up my first car, Sparky. Check it out: http://thepovertyjetset.com/20...

  • Aww. When I lost my beloved '88 red Honda Civic Hatchback, I cried, puked in a truck stop bathroom, and came down with a fever and diarrhea. Parting with loved cars hurts.
