I rode my bike to work today

Sadly, I haven’t made that statement in quite some time, though it remains extremely high on my list of lifestyle priorities. Over the past year, I’ve worked too far from home to effectively bike. Recently, my company moved to a suburb a *little* closer to my house, so after some prodding by my friend Stellargirl, a gorgeous sunny spring morning and an overwhelming need to get my blood pumping, I gave it a whirl today. Just shy of 12 miles according to Google Maps. And boy did it feel good. Now, as I sit and type this on my lunch break, I realize - oh shit. I have to bike all the way home again! My legs are still sore.
If I did this every day, though, I can tell you I would be fit as a fiddle. And I like the sound of that!
Coincidentally, once I got to work, I discovered that this is Bike to Work Week thanks to my pal Sara. Cool!

Dude! That looks like XLNT moved to right near me. We should totally do lunch sometime!
I also really like this new WP theme…what is it? And the header graphic is way cool.
PS–Can’t make it to the show this Saturday due to a friend’s bday plans, but thanks for the invite!

Nice commute.
The best part of my day(well, my work day anyway) tends to be when I remember that I get to ride my bike home.
If you are looking for some scenery, you might try using Wynnewood ave instead of Lancaster on the other side of City Line. Wynnewood intersects with City line right by Overbrook station. Also, You can’t beat Strawberry Mansion Bridge as a way across the river.
Warning though: There are hills on the other side of the bridge in the park.
Also, that Santa Fe Burrito Co. by your office. Can’t live without it.

@lauren - lunch anytime, amiga!
@CM - thanks for the tips! Yeah, I’ve thought about heading down Wynnewood all the way. It’s a toss up which has more traffic. At least heading back to the city it’s all downhill. Last night I did in under 45 mins.

For a shorter route, I would use Lancaster Ave from 38th street. Not half as dangerous as the strip past Lankenau hospital where the cars speed by.
