I’ve been waiting for this for what seems like a long time! I finished making this video for The War on Drugs single “Needle in Your Eye #16” a few weeks ago, and let their label (Secretly Canadian) take it around the internet on their own PR schedule before I uploaded it. But I’ve been DYING to share it with you!

[via Pitchfork.tv]

The video is made entirely of clips from the Prelinger Archive of Moving Images at the fantastic resource, archive.org. So thanks to them for providing such an amazing service, and such great quality Public Domain films. Long live remix culture!

Don’t forget, you should really buy this album, Wagonwheel Blues. It’s fantastic, gorgeous, entrancing. My friend Adam is a gifted songwriter and I promise it will provide an amazing soundtrack to the rest of your summer.

  • @joshua - thanks, buddy. Archive.org is a great resource! I hope people use it.

@David - I'm glad to hear you love the album. I do too! Thanks for the kudos on the video. Yes, I would love to live in that technicolor world. Two points: the vibrant footage in the video was shot in Kodachrome). And man, I really think that the desert South West does look like that all the time! So beautiful.
