hondacivic

It’s true that I do love the Ford Fiesta I’ve been driving around for the past couple of months, but my favorite car of all time has to be a yellow Honda Civic circa 1980. Not sure why, but it’s always held a big ol’ soft spot in my heart. My neighbor had one when I was a kid and I just loved the look and sound of that machine. Ever since then, I’ve always gone for cars with crazy colors and a hatchback.

    Artfully awkward. Love it.

  • The ol' Saab 900, eh? Definitely a cool car...

  • Ahhh, the original pregnant roller skate! I think it may be a bit earlier than 1980, though.

When I was in high school (circa 1990), I had a friend who picked up a white 76 Civic with a mere 10k on it for about 500 bucks. Great car. He drove that thing around for about 3 years 'til some drunk guy plowed into him head-on. My friend survived. The car didn't.

  • When I was younger I liked SAAB 900, then I got into BMW. But eventually I realized I was never a real car guy and never bought a new one. For the last 20 years, I've bought my pops cars 2nd hand, good if you live in the city. Now I'm cruising in a 96 Lincoln Towne Car but I do like those Mini Coopers.

  • Perhaps I can reignite your Saab infatuation by telling you a friend's dad has been trying to sell his 84 900. I probably would have bought it if I needed a car.
